Day 38 in Ecuador

Happy 4th of July United States! Not much is happening down here obviously, everyone is looking forward to the Pope coming. Anyways although we weren't able to BBQ or set off some fireworks, today turned out to be a pretty good day. I got up around the same time this morning to do some quiet time and make myself some breakfast before the team ate.

Everybody else was planning on going to old town Quito today, but since Dale and I had already been there multiple times, we decided to stay back and help Mabe out with some things that needed to be done before teams came next week. Dale and I helped to clean some blankets and make about 12 beds.

We took a break around 11:45 to do a quick workout before lunch. We ended up sprinting 10 hills (which aren't very hard to find in Quito) and it turned out to be a good workout. I keep telling Dale I can't wait for my first run back in the States and to be able to feel the difference. After our workout, we made ourselves some lunch and finished the rest of the bids.

Around 2:30, we left to go to Edgar's house to watch the Copa America final. We ended up getting some pizza and had a good time watching with Edgar. We came back to la Casablanca and spent the rest of the evening hanging out and relaxing.

Tomorrow, Mejia is planning on picking us up at 6:30 in the morning. He is going to take us to some beautiful lakes and eventually his country home. Be praying for this time with Mejia. Be praying that we would continue to grow in our relationships with him and God would guide us with our discussions with him.

Having another not so busy day was very nice. It was awesome to be able to help out but also have some time to relax too. Praise God for the much needed rest he provides! Especially since this will be a very busy week for Dale and I. We get back from Mejia's Monday and Tuesday night we are taking a night bus down to the coast for two days. We then leave on a night bus on Thursday night. So I am very thankful for the rest I am able to have now in preparation for a busy week!

Thanks for reading again! I may or may not have internet access tomorrow night, so if there isn't a blog posted, you know why.

Dios Bendiga,
Nico
